Long wait for Jumbo

It took just 118 completed tests and 17 years since Test debut for Anil "Jumbo" Kumble to become the captain of Indian Test Cricket team. He has been one of the most consistent bowlers for India for a long time. One thing is sure - he is going to play his hearts out in Australia and he may even pull a surprise or two with his leadership skills.

Hi MM
I do agree with the delay in crowning Jumbo. But i was one among thousands of Chennai fans who watched him lead India in an one-day international against England in Jan 2002 or 03. his field placements, his bowling changes were all diff from the one who called himself the prince. though india just about managed to win the game from the jaws of an embarrasing defeat, jumbo's captaincy was all evident. it was a pity that five wise men who watched the match didn't see the obvious....
